Record Collection and Mediation
The NAMS Firefly has designed and developed multiple record collection methods to accommodate legacy and next-generation switches.
For the TDM SS7 collection, we have a highly specialized interface card that monitors your SS7 network passively.
For next-generation switches, we can accept data via:
- FTP/SFTP/SCP protocols
- Virtual TTY methods
Once collected and imported, the NAMS Firefly® executes various actions (per your specific business requirements) on those records to present to your billing systems. We perform all the standard and complicated data mediation translations required to send only the call data necessary to ensure proper and accurate billing data to your OSS/BSS billing system.
Record Searches
NAMS Firefly gives you access to the complete call record, allowing you to search for individual call records or a group of records. With inconectiv’s LERG data, we can correlate your call records with the LERG data to present a complete call record, enhancing the call record view.
Our search interface is extremely user friendly and intuitive; to reduce the amount of time for a typical search, plus transactions are quick, thanks to the PostgreSQL database engine.
Report Generation
The NAMS Firefly has over 100 different prepared reports for the various data sets. In addition to the prepared reports, you can also create custom multi-source reports using the custom report interface. We continuously monitor industry trends to produce relevant reports that will aid in revenue assurance, regulation requirements, etc. Many of the prepared reports, depending upon search criteria, can be multi-phased. For instance, the SS7 Call Completion Report can look at only originating calls and check your tandem partners’ performance. Or, you can look at terminating calls to see how your switch is performing.
Data Types
The NAMS Firefly, designed for flexibility, handles many different data types. With today’s ever-changing standards such as LTE and future standards such as 5G, we created a flexible system allowing for the importation of various records types. As new data sets emerge, NAMS Firefly will handle them with ease. At this time, the NAMS Firefly® can accept the following data types:
- AMADNS – GR-1343-CORE
- Billing AMA Format (BAF) – GR-1100-CORE
- AMATPS – GR-385-CORE
- EMI – Exchange Message Interface
- iconnective AMA – 297-1001-830
- SS7 – Signalling System No. 7
- SIP – Session Initiation Protocol H.323
- UMTS – 3GPP TS 32.215 version 4.2.1
- LTE – Long-Term Evolution
- OCC – UCS 5, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13
Data Correlation
With PostgreSQL’s (and our stored processes) intelligent database, we aggregate and correlate (from multiple records sources and record types) into a usable call record. This call record gives you complete information about any call-in question, for diagnostic requirements, or revenue assurance disputes. This data translation is critical for proper data analytics, a behind-the-scenes benefit of our NAMS Firefly solution.
