The NAMS Bypass Traffic Controller (BTC) is an effective SS7 tool for controlling Least Cost Routing (or Bypass Traffic). NAMS Firefly identifies Bypass Traffic, and coupled with our Bypass Traffic Controller, actively prevents Bypass Traffic from touching your network, which results in immediate revenue increase for you.
The NAMS Bypass Traffic Controller (depending on your business rules/processes) reroutes certain telephone calls based on call criteria. The NAMS Bypass Traffic Controller’s primary purpose is to reroute suspicious traffic whose origination information is altered or missing, to circumvent typical access charges. For example: The NAMS Bypass Traffic Controller reroutes calls sent over EAS groups (that did not originate within the agreed-upon local calling area).
The components of the NAMS Bypass Traffic Controller include hardware, processes, and GUI applications. The NAMS Bypass Traffic Controller proprietary SS7 probe actively collects ISUP and TCAP/SCCP messages, and an additional record called an ISUP Session Record (ISR), created from the five main ISUP messages, is generated for each call. These ISR’s could be used for billing and also provides a more efficient way for the applications to manage the call data. Queries and reports on ISR and TCAP/SCCP data provides the user with network visibility.
